The Regional Insights Forum (RIF) strongly condemns the continuing large-scale military operations by Israel in Gaza Strip, which have resulted in immense civilian suffering, destruction of critical infrastructure, and a severe humanitarian crisis. The scale of civilian casualties, displacement of populations, and restrictions on humanitarian access have raised grave concerns among international legal experts and human rights organizations regarding possible violations of international humanitarian law. The protection of civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian workers must remain a fundamental obligation in any armed conflict.
RIF underscores that the deliberate targeting or disproportionate harm to civilian populations contravenes the principles enshrined in the Geneva Conventions and undermines the credibility of the international legal order. The forum urges the international community, including institutions of the United Nations, to take meaningful and immediate measures to ensure the protection of innocent lives and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance to the affected population.
The Regional Insights Forum further calls for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic engagement aimed at achieving a just and durable peace based on internationally recognized principles and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Sustainable peace in the region requires adherence to international law, respect for human dignity, and sincere commitment to resolving the long-standing conflict through peaceful and lawful means.
