The Regional Insights Forum (RIF) is an independent policy think tank committed to research, strategic dialogue, media engagement, and informed public discourse.

RIF invites applications for Research Associates and Interns across multiple institutional clusters. This is an opportunity for university students, emerging professionals, and graduates to contribute to policy research, publications, media production, institutional outreach, and strategic communication initiatives.

Internship Track

Duration: 8 Weeks (extendable based on performance and institutional requirements)

Eligibility

Applications are invited from students enrolled (5th semester or above) in disciplines including but not limited to:

  • International Relations & Political Science
  • Defense & Strategic Studies
  • Peace & Conflict Studies
  • Media & Communication / Journalism
  • Film & Television / Multimedia Arts
  • Graphic Design
  • Computer Science / IT / Software Engineering / Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Science / Statistics
  • Marketing / Business Administration
  • Public Policy & Development Studies

Applicants from other relevant disciplines with demonstrable skills may also apply.

Description

Interns will be assigned to relevant clusters and may work in:

  • Policy research and analytical writing
  • Publications and editorial support
  • Media production and digital content creation
  • Graphic design and visual communication
  • Data analysis and digital management
  • Event coordination and institutional outreach

Outstanding interns may be considered for future engagement. Upon completion of their Bachelor’s degree, eligible candidates may apply for the position of Research Associate, subject to merit and institutional requirements.

Research Associate Track

Eligibility

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (as listed above or equivalent)
  • Prior research or professional experience is desirable but not mandatory

Description

Research Associates are expected to contribute substantively to:

  • Independent research and policy analysis
  • Publications and report development
  • Media management and digital outreach
  • Advocacy initiatives and institutional partnerships
  • Event management and strategic coordination

Appointments are subject to institutional evaluation, performance standards, and organizational needs.

Institutional Clusters

Both Interns and Research Associates may be placed in one or more of the following clusters:

  • Research & Analysis
  • Publications
  • Outreach & Partnerships
  • Advocacy & Communication
  • Public Relations
  • Coordination

Key Responsibilities (Cluster-Based)

  • Research & Analysis: Literature review, data collection, policy briefs, analytical reports
  • Publications: Editing, formatting, newsletters, policy briefs, citation management
  • Outreach & Partnerships: Institutional liaison, communication support, database management
  • Advocacy & Communication: Policy messaging, digital content drafting, public engagement
  • Public Relations: Media coordination, press releases, social media management
  • Coordination: Event logistics, administrative coordination, internal communications
